Mediation Sessions
First Session
The first session is usually two hours and can
be as long as six hours, if so desired.
Intake: We will gather information; personal and
child information. Inform: We will go over
what the mediation process and
the function of a co-parenting plan.
The
advantage of a short session is that it gives
the parents a good fill for what is needed
and
usually a temporary co-parenting plan is put in
place. This temporary co-parenting plan
is
very import as it gives every one an idea what
works and what does not.
Additional Sessions Parents should prepare for the next scheduled
meeting. Additional sessions can be scheduled for 2 or
4-hours and will be scheduled as needed. Attorney can be called if not present and when
they are needed they can be invited to attend.
Coordinator Sessions
These sessions are with one parent.
This happens for varies reasons:
1. There other parent can be there because
he/she lives out of state.
2. The other parent wants to have his/her
say in court and is not interest working things
out before the court hearing.
3. The other parent does not realize how
important it is to have a good co-parenting
plan.
4. The other parent does not care or just
wants to leave it up to the other parent.
